I came home to madness that the Vortex couldn’t hope to complete with.
As it turns out, Hannah reminds Miranda of her beloved little sister that she hasn’t seen in eons and misses terribly. This somehow explains a topless, tattooed, nipple-pierced paladin chasing my screaming in horror, clutching her chest protectively wife all through the house.
Miranda cheerfully explained to me the psychology and physiology of body art, and I can’t remember a bloody word of it, I was doing all in my power to focus on the water heater. I finally got her to put on a shirt.
Because Bramble and Jilly had been escorted to our house by the school marm, Miss Hachi. When I say ‘escorted’, I mean dragged here by their ears. They were trying to blow up the school house again. I called their parents and got Cherry, who said that the Smacketts were not to be disturbed, they were working on a new project.
While my blood was still chilled over that, I get a call advising me that I would be picking up and entertaining overnight Miss Von Tombs, the state executioner within the week. Wonderful.
Hannah came out of hiding to watch me install the water heater, the twins insisted they weren’t trying to blow up the school house, they just wanted to do an experiment and couldn’t at home because their parents were holed up in the lab again – damn but I’d hoped it’d take them longer to repair it.
And then I discovered that Miranda had found Grandad and also discovered he was bound to the bed. As it turned out, they’d never met, but spent a lot of time bad mouthing the other. Eh. Miranda torturing Gramps makes up for a lot of his bellowing for grandkids.
